There are a number of iconic musicals touring the country this year.

Make sure you do not miss out on some great evenings of entertainment and take not of some of the performances coming soon near you.

 

Beauty and the Beast Musical

A childhood and fairytale classic, Beauty and the Beast.

The beloved Disney tale has now been transformed, re-imagined and re-designed for the big stage.

Beauty and the Beast follows the story of a prince, transformed to have the body of a ferocious beast, who must find his true love in order to break the spell and become human once again.

The prince may have struck gold when human girl Belle stumbles into his castle.

Beauty and the Beast, featuring the music of Alan Menken is based on the 1991 animated film and has upcoming dates across the country including at Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre, Manchester Palace Theatre and Dublin Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

 

Blood Brothers

Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers is a legendary musical loved by many eager theatre-goers.

Telling the tale of a set of twins who were separated at birth as they grow up in two very different lives, only to be reunited later in life.

The production has been performed more than 10,000 times in London’s West End, and features iconic musical songs such as Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It’s Not True.

Blood Brothers will be touring the country throughout 2022, with stops including Barnstaple’s Queen’s Theatre, the Wycombe Swan, in High Wycombe and Peterborough’s New Theatre.

 

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

From one iconic stage production to another, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is touring this year.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s show is entirely told through song and follows the Biblical story of Joseph and his eleven brothers.

Being their father’s favourite son, Joseph’s brother grow jealous and sell him to be a slave in Egypt.

He must then rise from the bottom to survive in this memorable tale, which features songs such as Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door to Me, There’s One More Angle in Heaven and Go Go Go Joseph.

Jason Donovan will be taking on the role of the Pharaoh, while X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke is the narrator.

The show will be touring this year, including stops in Manchester, Birmingham and Southampton.
