Celebrate National Inclusion Week 2021

National Inclusion week is taking place from 27th September – 3rd October this year. It is designed to celebrate everyday inclusion in all its forms. 2021 marks the 9th year Inclusive Employers has brought together organisations across the globe to celebrate, share and inspire inclusion practices.

Each year National Inclusion Week has a theme and this year it’s all about unity. In 2020, 16 million participants connected via the #NationalInclusionWeek2020 embracing the theme ‘Each One, Reach One’. 2021 is building on this theme and the connections that were made. If you or your employer displays some practice that needs to be shouted about this Inclusion week, share what you’re doing using the #UnitedForInclusion and #NationalInclusionWeek2021

This year, participants are being asked to consider:

  • What best practice can you share?
  • What challenged do you have to learn from?
  • What steps can you take to overcome them?

If you’d like to register for free to take part, visit: https://www.inclusiveemployers.co.uk/checkout/

Doing so will make sure you are sent a series of getting ready webinars and newsletters as well as a ‘toolkit’ pack which will help you to learn more about and get involved with this year’s theme. The events being held include webinars: ‘NIW launch and how to diversify your talent pool’, ‘Attracting diverse talent within your community’, ‘Building anti-racist cultures’ and ‘investing in Inclusion’. All webinars are aimed at both employers and employees.

Previous organisations who have taken part and benefitted from National Inclusion Week include co-op and Hampshire Constabulary. The Co-op engagement team commented, “National Inclusion Week is a key celebration in our people calendar at Co-op. Our aim is to make all colleagues feel included, and the week provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the work we’re doing, as well as educating colleagues and starting conversations around inclusion. 2019 was the biggest and best celebration yet, with over 100 local Co-op activities taking place across the UK ranging from, inclusivi-tea mornings, team commitments, external speaker and colleague network led events to name a few.”

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up and spread the word to promote inclusion and unity within the workplace.
