Don’t be blind to the many alternatives to curtains, especially now that sun is starting to show its face a bit more

 

There are a whole array of different kinds of blinds to choose from to control the sunlight that comes through your windows into your living space. Now the weather is starting to get that little bit warmer and sunnier, blinds might be a fantastic alternative to curtains, and will allow plenty of natural light into your home, perfect for the up and coming spring and summer months.

 

Roller Blind

Roller blinds are perhaps the most popular kind of blinds, and are also very easy to clean since, when they’re fully rolled out to their whole length, they are a level, flat surface, without any crevasses or gaps to try and get into. Roller blinds are versatile and their generic feel means they can be used in pretty much any room of the home.

 

Vertical Blind

Vertical blinds are unique is that each strip is relatively separate from one another, and therefore each strip can inhabit different colours, patterns and textures. They offer light control, and allow more natural light to flood the room more than most blinds do due to the space in between each strip.

 

Roman Blind

Similar to roller blinds, roman blinds are slightly different in that they overlap on their way up or down, rather than roll, which, unlike roller blinds, means the whole shape and consistency of the blind is maintained more effectively. Roman blinds are elegant, classic, sophisticated and timeless, and can also be used in bedrooms as well as living spaces, whilst sure to keep out any unwanted light.

 

Pleated Blind

Pleated blinds take the form of an acordian, whereby they are creased and can come down as far as you like. Most pleated fabrics are sponge clean and are suitable for moist conditions, making them suitable for a wide range of rooms.

 

Venetian Blind

 

Another highly popular type of blind, venetian blinds afford you an easy clean finish and are ideal for kitchens and bathrooms in particularly, given their neutral feel.
