Daily exercises you can fit into your busy schedule without having to leave home Posted On 21 March 2022

More of us are working from home these days, making getting fit from home ideal

There are a number of great exercises you can do without even stepping out of your front door.

With many of us spending more time at home these days, with the rise of working from home, why not put some of the time indoors to good use?

While getting out for a run or heading to the gym can be extremely satisfying, rewarding and good for you, some of us may fancy sticking to our own space to workout, or even may not want to head out into the rain or cold weather.

We have collected together some great exercises you can do from the comfort of your own home.

The NHS has broken down a number of great 10 minute workouts ideal for those short on time and wanting to stay at home.

It is always important to warm up properly before exercising.

Begin by marching on the spot for three minutes, followed by 60 heel digs in a minute. To perform a heel dig, place alternate heels in front of you while standing, with the front foot pointing up and punching out with each heel dig.

Next perform two sets of 10 repetitions of shoulder rolls, while marching on spot, roll your shoulders forwards five times and backwards five times, with your arms hanging loose to your side.

Then aim for 30 knee lifts in 30 seconds, by standing tall and bringing up alternate knees to touch your opposite hand.

Finally try 10 repetitions of knee bends, by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and your hands reaching out to the front.

Lower yourself by bending your feet and repeat.

A mixture of rocket jumps, star jumps or squats, tap backs and burpees can combine for an ideal cardio workout from home, requiring only a moderate amount of space.

Clear furniture out of the way to give yourself a great space to workout in without smashing your favourite lamp.
